FAQ

Short answers to common questions. For walkthroughs, see Help or How we work.

Basics

  • What is MintedBrain?
MintedBrain helps you find the right AI tools for real work. We organize content around tasks (like writing, research, or meetings), list curated tools, and offer structured learning in the Academy. You can also read our blog, tutorials, and news summaries.
  • Do I need an account?
You can browse much of the site without signing in. Some features—like For You, saving progress in courses, bookmarks, badges, and certificates—require a free account. Sign in from the Sign in page.
  • Is MintedBrain free to use?
Using MintedBrain is free. Individual AI tools may have their own pricing; we label pricing tiers where we can. See also our free AI tools list.
  • How do I sign in or create an account?
Go to Sign in. You can use Google or email and password. The first time you authenticate, we create a free account for you. Step-by-step details are in Help.
  • Why do I need to verify my email?
If you sign up with email and password, we send a verification link so we know the address is yours before you use the full site. Check your spam folder if you do not see it. See Help under “Email verification.”
  • Does MintedBrain give medical, legal, or financial advice?
No. MintedBrain is a discovery and learning resource—we curate tools, tasks, and educational content. Nothing here is professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise). Always verify important information yourself and consult a qualified professional when decisions matter. See our Terms for limitations.
  • What is the difference between the blog, tutorials, and news?
Blog articles are longer reads: guides, opinions, and explainers. Tutorials are step-by-step how-tos you can follow in order. News summarizes and links to timely stories from around the AI space.

Personalization & discovery

  • What is For You?
For You is a personalized feed of tools, tasks, learning, blog posts, and tutorials based on your interests. Set topics in Account under “Your interests” to tune what you see.
  • How do I search the site?
Use the search icon in the header (or press ⌘K on Mac, Ctrl+K on Windows) for tools and tasks. List pages like For You and the Academy also have their own search boxes.
  • What is By role, and how is it different from For You?
By role groups curated tools, learning, posts, and more for common roles (for example founders, marketers, or developers). It is the same for everyone with that role. For You is personalized: it uses the interest categories you pick in Account and your learning activity. Use both to explore.
  • Where are my bookmarks?
When signed in, use the bookmark action on lessons, tutorials, blog posts, and other pages to save items for later. View and manage them under Bookmarks. More detail is in Help.

Tools & tasks

  • How are tools chosen?
We are task-first: tools are mapped to real jobs people do, not endless directories. We look for relevance, usability, and value. We do not accept payment for inclusion in core shortlists. Read more on How we work.
  • What is the difference between Tools and Tasks?
Tools lists AI products by category. Tasks pages describe a job you want done (e.g. a workflow) and suggest tools, prompts, and tips. Start from a task when you know what you need to accomplish.
  • Why do some links show when they were last checked?
We verify outbound tool links on a schedule and show trust signals (e.g. last checked) so you know a link was recently healthy. Details are on How we work.
  • Do you use affiliate links?
We may earn compensation when you click some outbound links or sign up for tools. That does not change our editorial rankings. See How we work and our Terms.
  • Can I suggest a tool?
Yes. Use Submit tool and we will review it against our guidelines.

Ratings & comments

  • Why can't I rate tools or post comments right after I create an account?
Star ratings and comments are available only once your account is at least 24 hours old (from the time your account was created). Until then you can still browse, read, and use the rest of MintedBrain while signed in. We apply this rule to keep reviews and discussion clear and useful, to protect signal quality on tool and content pages, and to reduce spam, manipulation, and other abuse. If you recently joined, try again after a day has passed.
  • What other rules apply to comments?
Keep discussion respectful and on topic. For safety and spam prevention, links and URLs are not allowed in comment text. We may hide or remove content that breaks our policies. For ground rules and limitations, see our Terms of Service.

Academy & progress

  • What are paths, courses, and tracks?
Learning paths bundle multiple courses into a program. Courses are made of modules and lessons. Skills tracks group learning by role or skill. Explore from the Academy home.
  • Where is my course progress?
Progress saves automatically when you are signed in. View started and bookmarked courses under My Courses.
  • How do certificates work?
Completing eligible paths, courses, or tracks can earn certificates. View and download them on Certificates.
  • What are badges and streaks?
We track reading and learning time while you use the site (signed in) and award badges at milestones. Daily visits build a streak. See Badges and Help for details.

Mobile app & newsletter

  • Is there a mobile app?
Yes. MintedBrain has native apps for iOS and Android that cover the same core experience as the website: sign-in, For You, tools, tasks, Academy, bookmarks, certificates, badges, and more. See below for where to download.
  • Where can I download the MintedBrain app?
App Store (iOS) · Google Play (Android). The same links appear in the site footer on every page. More detail is in Help under “Mobile app.”
  • Do I use the same account on the web and the app?
Yes. Sign in with the same Google or email account on the web and in the app. Your progress, bookmarks, badges, and certificates stay in sync when you are online. You do not need a separate “app account.”
  • How do I subscribe or unsubscribe from the newsletter?
Subscribe from the home page or footer. To change preferences or unsubscribe, use the link in any email or visit Newsletter unsubscribe.
  • Does MintedBrain work offline?
No. Browsing, search, courses, and sync with your account require an internet connection. The mobile app also needs connectivity for the same features as the web.
