Help & How-To

Step-by-step guides for everything on MintedBrain. Works the same on web and in the app.

Getting started

Sign up or sign in

Go to Sign in. You can sign in with Google or email and password. If you don't have an account, the same page creates one when you sign in for the first time.

Email verification (password sign-in)

If you sign up with email and password, we send a verification link to your inbox. Click it to verify your email before you can access the full site. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.

Reset your password

On the sign-in page, click “Forgot password?” Enter your email and we'll send a reset link. Use it within the time window shown in the email.

Your account

Visit Account to manage your profile and preferences.

Display name

Edit your display name in the Profile section. It appears on certificates, badges, and comments.

Interests

Select topics that matter to you (e.g. Content & Writing, Productivity, Research). We use these to personalize your For You feed and recommendations. Save after making changes.

Change password

In the Password section, enter your current password and a new one. You must be signed in with email/password (not Google) to change it.

Delete account

At the bottom of Account, you can permanently delete your account and all data (profile, progress, certificates). Type DELETE to confirm. This cannot be undone.

For You

For You is a personalized feed of tools, tasks, learning, blog posts, and tutorials. You must be signed in to see it.

Set your interests

Go to Account → “Your interests” and select categories. Your For You feed will prioritize content in those categories. If you don't set any, you'll see a broader mix.

Filter and search

Use the type dropdown to show only Tools, Tasks, Learn, Blog, or Tutorials. Use the search box to filter by title. In-progress courses are excluded from the Learn section so you can discover new content.

Each section has a “See more →” link that shows a longer, paginated list of that type.

Tools & tasks

Browsing tools

Tools lists AI tools by category. Filter by category, pricing (free/paid), and search by name. Free tools shows tools with free tiers.

Task pages

Tasks shows task-based pages (e.g. “Write SEO blog brief,” “Transcribe meetings”). Each task has recommended tools, prompts, and tips. Use them to pick the right tool for what you need.

Submit a tool

If you're a builder, go to Submit tool and fill out the form. We review submissions and add tools that fit our editorial guidelines. See How we work for details.

Utilities

Utilities are free, in-browser helpers for AI literacy. You do not need to sign in. Nothing you paste is stored as a personal history of runs. They are for education, not professional, medical, or legal advice.

Prompt Validator

Prompt Validator reviews your draft prompt with rule-based checks across four areas: goal clarity, context, how you want the answer shaped, and constraints. You can pick an optional goal (general, writing, coding, research, or creative) so tips match your task. Results include evidence lines, a short summary, optional top fixes, and a checklist. It does not call a separate AI model to grade your text in the MVP.

AI Output Review

AI Output Review scans pasted model output for patterns that often deserve a second look (for example numbers, dates, certainty wording, health or legal language). You can set an optional use context. It does not verify facts, sources, or truth, and it is not a plagiarism or malware scanner.

Course Recommender

Course Recommender ranks real Academy courses from the topics you select (same category list as elsewhere on the site), optional “By role” personas that include curated course picks, and a beginner / intermediate / advanced choice. It uses the public course catalog and learning tags, not a generative model to invent courses. Each result links to a course page.

Workflow Recommender

Workflow Recommender ranks real task pages and learning paths from your goal text, optional category filter, and optional topic boosts. It uses the public catalog and tags, not a generative model to invent workflows. Each result links to a task or path page.

Roadmap utilities

Prompt Debugger and Prompt Improver are not live yet; see the Utilities hub for current tools.

Common questions

Do you save my prompt or output? We do not keep a per-user history of what you ran in these tools for the MVP. Treat anything sensitive as you would on any site: avoid secrets you would not paste elsewhere.

Why do I sometimes see a security check? When reCAPTCHA is enabled, it may run before analysis to reduce automated abuse.

Why was only part of my text analyzed? Very long pastes may be truncated to a maximum length; the page tells you when that happens.

Academy & learning

The Academy has structured learning: paths, courses, and tracks.

Paths, courses, and tracks

Learning paths are multi-course programs. Courses are modules within paths. Skills tracks group related paths and courses by capability (e.g. writers, developers).

Start a course

Open a course and click “Start course” or go to the first lesson. Progress is saved automatically. You can bookmark courses from the course page to find them later.

My courses

In My Courses, see courses you've started (in progress or completed) and bookmarked. Resume where you left off.

Certificates

Complete a path, course, or track to earn a certificate. View and download them at Certificates.

Bookmarks

Save lessons, tutorials, and blog posts for later. Use the bookmark button on the page. Manage them at Bookmarks.

Badges, learning time & streaks

Daily streak

Visit MintedBrain (web or app) each day to build a streak. Your streak resets if you miss a day. View it on your Account page. The web and app both count — open either and your visit is recorded for that day.

Reading badges

MintedBrain tracks how long you spend learning and reading when signed in. Time counts on tutorials, blog posts, task pages, and course lessons (while the tab is active).

Earn badges like First Hour, Reader 3h, and MintedBrain Veteran at milestones. View them at Badges. Share your badge page with others.

Where time is tracked

Time is recorded on tutorial pages, blog posts, task pages (standard and free views), and Academy lesson pages. Your account shows total time and progress to the next badge.

Newsletter

Subscribe to the weekly AI digest in the footer or on the home page. Choose your frequency (weekly, biweekly, monthly) and whether to get tool/course notifications.

Unsubscribe

Use the unsubscribe link in any digest email, or go to Newsletter unsubscribe and enter your email to manage preferences or stop all emails.

Use the search icon in the header (or press ⌘K on Mac, Ctrl+K on Windows) to quickly search tools and tasks. Results open in a command palette. On For You, Academy, and list pages, use the on-page search boxes to filter by query.
